What You Will Do:

The Nursing Coordinators for the Neuro Division is a new position role that will assist to refocus the team goals to maximize efficiency and re-engineer the process to improve patient flow & patient satisfaction.


This will include the following:

-Facilitate timely discharge-- early preparation
-Increase Patient satisfaction
-Decrease readmission and length of stay
-Facilitate timely transfer to outside facility
-Rounding daily or more frequently with interdisciplinary teams on all 3 units
-Collaborate with the Patient Placement Center
-Communicate /Expedite needed orders for discharge
-Prevent 30 day readmission
-Improve throughput for the division
-Decrease lost admissions

They will have to interact with many different levels of providers- bedside RNs, NP's, attending/fellows, service residents , staff in ED, OR , PPC, IR , PACU, CCRU, Express Care , case management & rehab. services.


Schedule most likely to start out with 3- 12 hour shifts each with some weekend and off shift coverage will be required.


Start times of shift will alternate between 7am-7:30pm or 11:00am -11:30 pm. Currently determining which hours will be the most effective for this new role.


What You Need to Be Successful:

Requirements include:
-2 yrs. critical care experience required, Neuro experience preferred.


Other requirements include:
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Knowledge and experience on project management or some experience with implementing new process for improved outcomes, etc.

-.Knowledge of policies and procedures related to hospital emergency codes, discipline and disaster plan is needed for resolving administrative and clinical matters
-Active Maryland RN licensure. A Bachelor's in Nursing is preferred.
